About Me.

I'm Gary Ananian, a California-based photographer specializing in Western lifestyle, rodeo, outdoor adventure and environmental portraiture.

My photography grew out of a love for the outdoors, travel and the people who make their lives in these environments. I'm drawn to real people, real places and the moments between the obvious ones, the dust, weather, work and personality that give a photograph its story.

I work with individuals, brands, agencies and public organizations to create cinematic imagery that feels authentic rather than manufactured.

My first camera came from Craigslist. What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession, and I've been chasing interesting people, landscapes and stories ever since.
